Poole Events Confirmed

Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) Council recently shared updates about the events scheduled for Poole Quay in 2024 and the beginning of 2025.

The good news is that none of the events have been canceled. Here's what you can expect:

- Poole Quay Fireworks: These dazzling displays will light up the sky once a week throughout August. Plus, there will be more fireworks on the 5th of November.

- Poole Christmas Maritime Light Trail: Enjoy the festive season with this enchanting light display.

- New Years Bath Race & Classic Cars: Start the New Year with a fun and unique event.

The council is also teaming up with local businesses to fund two extra firework displays before and after August, just like they did last year.

Harry Paye Day, organized by the Pirates of Poole, will also go ahead. The council will take care of closing the roads and providing staff to ensure everything runs smoothly.

Budgeting for the upcoming year was a challenge, but the council's priorities remain clear: protecting the vulnerable, maintaining community safety and cleanliness, and preserving essential infrastructure.

In addition to these events, the council is collaborating with businesses and event organizers to support other popular events like Dream Machines (Bike Night), Quay for my Car, and Mini Steam on the Quay.

While Folk on the Quay didn't happen last year, there's hope it might return soon.

Cllr Millie Earl, Deputy Leader of BCP Council, emphasized the importance of continuing to support events that bring joy to the community. She also highlighted the need for the council to adapt and work with businesses to sustain these events financially.

Jacqui Rock, Poole BID Lead, echoed these sentiments, emphasizing the importance of collaboration and adaptability in uncertain times. They're working hard to ensure businesses are informed and involved in future plans while exploring new opportunities.

In short, despite challenges, the council and local stakeholders are committed to keeping Poole Quay vibrant and welcoming for residents and visitors alike.
