New DAB radio multiplex launches in Dorset covering Poole, Purbeck and Wimborne

New Digital Radio Service Brings More Stations to Dorset

Radio listeners in Poole, Purbeck, and Wimborne now have access to more local stations thanks to the launch of a new DAB+ radio service. The new small-scale DAB multiplex has gone live just six months after receiving its license.

More Stations, Better Coverage

This means several popular community radio stations can now be heard more clearly across the area. Stations now available on DAB+ include:

• Hope FM
• Hot Radio
• Forest FM
• Radio Wimborne
• Unity 101 (from Southampton)

Another station, Dorset Coast Radio, will also be joining soon. This station is run by the team behind Hospital Radio Bedside and aims to bring even more local programming to Dorset listeners.

Gary Plummer from Dorset Coast Radio said he was excited about the launch and the benefits it will bring to local audiences. Kevin Scott from Hot Radio highlighted that the new digital platform allows stations to reach even more listeners.

Steve Saville, Station Manager at Forest FM, called the launch a major milestone, saying he looks forward to welcoming new listeners across the region.

• Hope FM (a Bournemouth-based community radio station)
