Beacon Community Arts
In honour of Remembrance Day, we want to extend our warmest thanks to the talented students of Lytchett Manor School and Upton Junior School. These young artists have created a wonderful mural to commemorate and remember those who served.
This project was not only an opportunity for students preparing for their exams to showcase their artistic talents but also a meaningful challenge. Through their drawings, the students crafted a powerful mural featuring images of the Manor as a wartime hospital, a train transporting soldiers, a nurse in uniform, and badges representing the army, navy, and air force. They even included the iconic clock tower.
The students from Upton Junior School, in particular, contributed beautifully by painting the poppies – a lasting symbol of remembrance.
Special thanks are also due to Mrs. Burridge, Mrs. Williamson, Mr. Langdale, and Mr. Paul Jobling, as well as Mrs. Hayley Peach from the Royal British Legion, who helped ensure the mural was ready to be displayed on time. Their guidance and support made this possible.
Above all, a big thank you to the students for their enthusiasm and dedication in bringing this mural to life. It is now proudly displayed on the British Legion wall, serving as a touching tribute for all to see.
