Doggy safety for kids

Does your family have a furry friend? Here are some ways to stay safe and have fun with your dog:


Always be gentle: Don't pull their ears or tail.

Give them space: If your dog seems grumpy, leave them alone.

Ask permission before petting someone else's dog.

An adult should always be around when you're playing with a dog.

School news for kids!

Did you apply to start big school in September?

You can find out next week if you got into the school you wanted! If your grown-up applied online by January 15th, they can check the results online on April 16th at 10am. If they need help, they can call the school people on 01202 123222 or 01202 127963.

We recently published our draft BCP Local Plan, which sets out our strategy for growth until 2039.


The draft Local Plan, which includes 33 ward policies, is now out for consultation.

The consultation closes at 1pm on 3 May 2024.

We have confirmed arrangements for elections taking place in May this year.


On Thursday 2 May 2024 people across Dorset will be given the chance to vote for their preferred candidate to take on the role of the county's Police and Crime Commissioner (PCC).


PCCs aim to cut crime and deliver an effective and efficient police service within their police force area.


Residents in Bournemouth, Christchurch and Poole (BCP) who want to have their say in elections must be registered to vote in the BCP Council area. If not already registered to vote, registration must take place by Tuesday 16 April 2024.


A BCP Council by-election in the Canford Cliffs ward also takes place on Thursday 2 May triggered by the recent resignation of Cllr May Haines.
